Alan Catleugh decided he wanted to undertake a challenge in support of his partner Maggie whilst raising awareness and funds for HER Breast Friends. Not knowing what to do, Alan decided that he would walk from his home city of Sheffield to the HER Breast Friends premises on Chamberlain Road in Hull, and that is exactly what he did!
Starting in Sheffield on 12th April 2017, Alan walked more than 64 miles in support of the Charity. The challenge took over 4 days, and Alan was supported by Maggie, one of our fabulous members.
Once in Hatfiled, Alan was joined by Maggie’s son Will, for the remainder of the trek.
Alan and Will arrived at the Charity on Sunday 16th April, earlier than expected, but where a welcoming party was waiting for their return.
Alan was extremely tired and sore but so proud of his achievement – and so he should be!
Saying to Maggie, that if he had any other bright ideas she should shut him up! (Although I have been reliably informed that Alan has already started to plan his next big challenge for 2018!)
Alan raised a magnificent £847.89 which he presented to Vice Chair Pam Trays and Charity Manager Jayne Beck at the recent Breastival in Cottingham on 2nd July 2017.
Huge congratulations Alan and Will for completing an amazing challenge, and thank you for raising a huge amount for HER Breast Friends!
