What a wonderful surprise to learn that HER Breast Friends is one of two ‘Charities of the Year’ chosen by the newly installed Chairman of East Riding of Yorkshire, Councillor Pat Smith .
Trustee Pam, who spearheads the HER Breast Friends Breast Awareness Campaign Team, was invited to the Installation Ceremony, held on 16th May 2019 in the Council Chamber at County Hall, Beverley, where she witnessed Cllr Smith take office as Chairman, before enjoying a buffet lunch at the Memorial Hall. Pam said it was a wonderful occasion and an honour to have been invited.
Cllr Smith visited the HER Breast Friends new premises in August 2018, where she was very impressed with the services and activities offered to local people affected by breast cancer.
Cllr Smith also chose the Hull Children’s University as her other Charity of the Year.
Two very worthy Charity’s I’m sure you will agree!
