On Friday 14th July, 2 new beds complete with covers were delivered to Ward 30 to help them in their quest to source 8 beds in total, and were used by relatives that same weekend.
After seeing the report on Hull Live regarding the staff of Ward 30 Castle Hill Hospital raising funds for camp beds so families can stay with their loved ones approaching their final hours, we contacted the Ward to see if we could help.
We believe this is very much in keeping with one of our Charity Objectives to ‘help create a positive environment for all affected by breast cancer’

A relative who is staying at the hospital with her Mum, said “These beds are absolutely wonderful and really comfortable. It just helps so much at a difficult time, knowing that I can have a comfortable night and Mum knows I am just next to her if she needs me”
Since than, a further 5 beds have been donated to the Ward from members of the public after reading HER Breast Friends initial post on social media, back in July!
The Charity has, in previous years, purchased items such as 2 lymphoedema assist machines, an Accuvein machine and contributed to Tomosynthesis technology further evidence of our fundraising put to good use!
