The Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation via the BBC, has appealed for cloth drain bags to be used by patients after undergoing surgery, in the Grimsby, Goole and Scunthorpe Hospitals. The bags are used by patients to help carry their clinical drain around and stops them potentially tripping over. It also helps patients to be more mobile whilst recovering from surgery in hospital and at home.
One of our members Christine, saw their plea and immediately contacted the HER Breast Friends office to see if we could help.
For many years the Charity has and continues to make and donate drain bags to both Castle Hill and Spire Hospitals in Hull, so of course we were delighted to be able to help out.
Today, 75 drain bags, (25 for each hospital) lovingly made by our Wednesday Crafters, supporters and volunteers, were packed up and sent off to The Pink Rose Suite, Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby, ready to be given to patients who need them.
A huge thank you to everyone who has made drain bags for HER Breast Friends…. you are all superstars!! xx
