Remember a couple of weeks ago our fabulous Craft Club Member Sheila made some headbands for The Day Unit at Castle Hill Hospital? Well Sheila has been sewing and making once again but this time the fabulous headbands were heading for The Spire Hospital.

The headbands will be used by those undergoing treatment and opting to use the ‘Cold Cap’. For those who are not aware of what the ‘Cold Cap’ is, it is ‘Scalp Cooling’ device worn on the head, during each chemotherapy treatment and can help to reduce the effects of losing your hair. Whilst not 100% successful for all, Charity Manager Jayne has found during her recent treatment it has significantly reduce her hair loss. BUT, we are all unique and everyone will have varying success rates, plus it’s not for everyone as it can be uncomfortable!
To aid with comfort, a headband is worn around the forehead to help stop the cold cap marking or irritating the skin.
Member Sheila, has loving made 14 headbands to be kept at the hospital, and given to those who forget to bring a headband.
Thank you Sheila and Lynne… you’re amazing! x
