After losing her Mum and good friends to the disease, then battling breast cancer herself, member Janice Wilcock has decided to challenge herself by tackling the Lyke Wake Walk in aid of HER Breast Friends.
The 40 mile ‘nice little’ hike starts at Osmotherley on the night of Saturday 18th November, then across the North Yorkshire Moors through the night finishing at Ravenscar the following day. Jancie is also being joined by some of her friends along the way.
When asked why she has chosen to raise money for the Charity, Janice says ” I’m doing this in aid of HER Breast Friends because they are a local charity, who are amazing in helping people who are and have gone through breast cancer. After doing the London Marathon last year, it took it out of my legs and I’m only just getting back into my running, so I thought a nice little walk would be better this year.”
