On the morning of Sunday 24th September 2017, Jonathan Addy lined up with 1000’s of other runners to tackle the gruelling 26.2 miles of the Hull Marathon. This was to be Jonathan’s first venture at this distance and he was doing it in support of his Grandma, who had been diagnosed with breast cancer earlier in the year.
JONATHAN RUNS HULL MARATHON IN SUPPORT OF HIS GRANDMA & HER BREAST FRIENDS
Jonathan crossed the finishing line, still smiling and raised an astounding £1290 for the Charity – plus Gift Aid!
After completing the Hull Marathon Jonathan said “It was an amazing experience and my Grandma was there to see me cross the finishing line at the KC Stadium. It was a very emotional time for all involved!'”
Jonathan had asked his Grandma to choose a charity to support and HER Breast Friends was Grandma Isabel’s choice.
Jonathan’s Grandma first heard about the Charity after receiving one of our Patient Gift Packs in Caste Hill Hospital after her breast surgery. Jonathan said, “The Charity had provided incredible help and encouragement during and after her treatment and were a constant source of support during the most testing and difficult times”.
Huge congratulations Jonathan on completing this epic challenge and thank you for supporting HER Breast Friends.
Both you and Grandma Isabel really are amazing people!
