METUP UK, a patient advocacy group, have created a campaign to drive awareness, create change and highlight the seriousness of Metastatic (Secondary) Breast Cancer. The exhibition is currently on display at the St Stephen’s Shopping Centre and Hull Truck Theatre until the beginning of April 2023.
‘The Darker Side of Pink’, is an impactful physical experience which features 31 transparent figures – one for each woman who dies every day from metastatic or secondary breast cancer in the UK – each with an individual QR code that plays a video from a real-life breast cancer patient.
Sarah Walton, one of our HER Breast Friends and Second Friends members is one of the featured patients and you can see Sarah’s figure at the Food Court area at St Stephens, Hull.

On Friday 17th March at 1.30pm there will be an event at St Stephen’s Shopping Centre to mark the exhibition. Local MP Emma Hardy will be attending to support the awareness campaign, along with METUPUK supporters and representatives of HER Breast Friends.
