How you can support us

The fact is 1 in 8 ladies will at some point hear the devastating news that they have breast cancer. They along with their friends and family will need help and support.

The services we offer are free to breast cancer patients and are available due to the kind support we receive from our fundraisers.

Your ongoing support makes a huge difference and here are just a few examples of where your money goes:

£15 will provide a Patient Gift Pack
£30 will provide a Wig Starter Pack
£50 will secure a place for a breast cancer patient at our Pink Pamper Day
£500 could keep our Buddleia Therapy room open for a month

Fundraising

We welcome all fundraising and are available to support you along the way with advice and guidance. Merchandise is available to use on the day and include T Shirts, Buckets, Collecting tins, Leaflets and Brochures. Remember every little helps and our recent events cover from the very large in the form of a gala dinner, to the very small like a cake table at work.

We as a Charity fundraise ourselves to raise funds for breast cancer research and treatment and have in the past donated funds towards the following hospital equipment Yorkshire Scan Appeal’s MRI scanner, Daisy Appeal PET Scanner, two Lymphoedema assist machines, nipple tattooing machine, an Accuvein machine to help locate hard to find veins in patients undergoing chemotherapy and camp beds for Ward 30 at Castle Hill Hospital for relatives staying overnight with their loved ones.

Here is a checklist to help get you started;

  1. Decide what to do – Decide what fundraising event or activity you’d like to do.
  2. Set a date – Decide when and where your fundraising events are going to take place. Remember to consider the weather and have a plan B just in case!
  3. Set yourself a fundraising target – Let everyone know how much you want to raise and how the money donated will help people facing breast cancer. It all adds up – it takes just 10 of your friends to donate £20 each for you to collect £200 (or more if they tick the Gift Aid box).
  4. Set up an online donation page or donate via PayPal – It only takes minutes to set up and it’s a quick and easy way share it with friends. Plus the money donated comes directly to us so you don’t have to worry about sending it in.
  5. Spread the word – Tell all your friends, family and work colleagues about your fundraising and let everyone know when and where!
  6. Collect your sponsorship and thank everyone – After you’ve taken part in an event make sure you collect in any sponsorship money that you’ve been promised and let everyone know how you got on with your event and how much you’ve managed to raise. They’ll appreciate knowing the difference their contribution will make.

Volunteering

We rely on our volunteers every day and each one brings their own special qualities to help, whether that be someone who has had a breast cancer diagnosis, someone who has supported a close friend or family member through their treatment or a professional or personable person who can bring their own area of expertise to the Charity. Why not start today by helping out at one of our events?? Contact us to find out what we are doing or complete the Volunteer Enquiry Form.

Corporate Fundraising

Is your company looking to support a local charity through the year, holding events to raise funds?

Has someone in your workplace been affected by breast cancer and your team is looking to give something back?

We have various local corporate sponsors and their support is vital. Together we can make a massive difference to the lives of local people affected by breast cancer.

We have Board members who can come to your workplace and present to your teams on what your support means to us and be with you along the way working together, so why not  contact us.

Take Part with a personal challenge

Do you have a personal goal you want to set yourself? Why not use this opportunity to raise much needed funds for your local breast cancer charity? Thought of running a marathon or our local Jane Tomlinson 10k event in Hull? Climbing a mountain? Jumping from a plane?

Use the fundraising checklist above to help you or contact us for support.

We are here to support you in any way we can!
